Reed Carlson

Mr. Carlson grew up in Des Moines, IA and attended the University of Iowa.  He first used his degree in Science Education at the Kirov Academy in Washington, DC in 1997.  Since then, he’s taught science at Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA, Sierra High School and Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.  Mr. Carlson made his way to Tesla EOC in 2023.  The students and staff at Tesla have done a lot to make it a safe and welcoming experience. 

Reed Carlson's story is one that blends a passion for education, a love for adventure, and a deep-rooted commitment to family. Born in the heart of Des Moines, Iowa, Reed's journey through life has been marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a zest for exploration. This curiosity would later lead him to pursue higher education at the prestigious University of Iowa, where he immersed himself in the realm of science. It was at the University of Iowa where Reed honed his academic prowess, fueling his passion for learning and discovery.

Upon completing his education, Reed embarked on a fulfilling career path as a science teacher. His innate ability to inspire and engage students made him a beloved figure within the educational community. Reed's classroom became a dynamic hub of intellectual curiosity, where he nurtures young minds and instills in them a lifelong love for the sciences.

Mr. Carlson has 2 children and enjoys watching them play hockey, skiing and mountain biking.
