Tesla Opportunity School provides a flexible, supportive pathway for students ready to take ownership of their education and earn their high school diploma.
Our trimester schedule, three terms instead of two, creates more opportunities to recover credits or accelerate learning, helping students stay on track for graduation. With small class sizes, students receive personalized instruction, build strong relationships with teachers, and get the support they need to succeed.

Awards
- Rotary Club Student of the Month: Students are recognized for achievements, receiving certificates, coins, and gift cards, often presented in collaboration with local community partners.
- FCCLA Bronze Awards: Students, such as those in the entrepreneurship program, earn accolades for dedication and professional presentations at state competitions.
- Sachs Foundation Scholarship: Students have received major, multi-year scholarships, such as a $40,000 undergraduate award for academic excellence and community leadership.
- Graduation Awards: Teachers and staff present honors during graduation for academic growth, outstanding artistry, and overall excellence, celebrating students' hard work and resilience.
Academic Programs
- I-contract – if a student can’t get their credit completed during the 12-week trimester, they can contract with a teacher to finish the credit within a 2-week window.
- Credit Recovery – trimesters allow for 21 credits in a year if you take 7 classes for each trimester.
- Alternative Credit Opportunities – these are offered for a variety of activities, including CLEP testing.
- CTE offerings – Bike Tech, Backpacking, Mountain Biking; also, Explorer, WFA/WE/LNT, BME, MOS 1 &2
- ACE – credits for working in the community.
Clubs & Activities

- Various clubs that are set up by the students with a teacher advisor.
Sports
You can participate in sports and after-school activities at your District 11 home school. If your desired activity isn’t offered there, you’ll need permission from another school to join. To remain eligible, you must maintain good grades and attendance if you fall behind, you won’t be able to participate until you’re back on track.

- Smaller Class Sizes
- Flexible schedule. Classes can start as early as 7:30 am or as late as 9:30 am. (Students are required to take a minimum of 5 classes).
